  1. Discussion on the focus of Learning Communities.
A learning community is any business work team that collaborates together to solve problems to make the business better. The team works together to learn new patterns of thinking, they learn how utilize others in the group, and they learn how to learn together. The individuals expand their aptitude to attain the results they desire.

There are many things that are benefits of learning communities, some of these include, increased teacher communication, increased commitment to the learning, shared responsibility and more powerful learning. Teachers will be talking to each other to work together for their students
  1. Discussion on how Learning Communities affect teachers.
Learning communities are great for teachers. They increase teacher communications and let teachers try out new ideas with their students. They will also receive feedback from their colleagues on some things that they may improve. Having a many different minds working together on a project may open some teacher’s eyes to new ideas which will benefit both students and teachers.
  1. Discussion on how Learning Communities affect students.
Learning communities will get students working together and learning in new and innovative ways. The students will be solving real world problems and exploring things that are interesting and important to them. They will practice brainstorming, communicating with each other, and will practice managing themselves and others.
  1. Discussion on the components for shared vision in Learning Communities.
Some of the visions that must be shared by members of the learning community are having a clear sense of what they are collaborating for and what type of conditions they must create to reach their goal. They must all work together and focus on student learning and be goal and results oriented. And, in my opinion, the most of all they must commit themselves to nonstop improvement and know that they are life-long learners.
  1. Discussion on how concepts in this chapter relate to your topic/project.
I think this chapter relates really well to our project because we are working together to create a great project for our students. We all know that we are continuing to learn and we are constantly improving. I know that all of us have the same goal or we would not be in this class together. All of the components needed for a successful learning community are there.

  2. I agree. I like that your reflection is very "to the point". I also liked the connections you made to the project we are currently working on in groups. It's easy to see that the skills they were discussing in the chapter have the potential for real-world application today. Good Job!
